Capitalism is not synonymous with feudalism. Under a feudal paradigm, ownership of property is reserved for elites while the masses work the land without any ownership interest. These are not principles upon which the U.S. was founded, and for most of our history Americans were able to freely own land.
Of course, that is changing now (which was the subject of my article). We are definitely heading toeard the feudalism you describe, but this is by no means baked into the cake of capitalism. If that were true, most Americans would have been renting from elites from 1776 onward.
