Frederick, I hope you will forgive me for waiting so long to respond. In full disclosure, I had to read your comment many times, taking long breaks in between, to even begin to appreciate what you are saying. Midway through my third attempt I thought, “Dang, either this is seriously challenging stuff, or I’m a below average thinker!”

After my fifth or so read, I “think” I understand where you’re coming from. I’ve never had a very science/math based mind, so it’s difficult for me to process the concept of Joules energy conversion, extracting energy, cooling effect, etc.

My general takeaway is that you think we should be putting more energy into the earth than we extract, correct? Which makes perfect sense, and it’s definitely not what’s happening now, on so many levels.

Where I remain confused is on the issue of “free” money. I can’t say that I’m a fan of UBI, especially given the current state of the labor force. Give most folks any sort of guaranteed income, and I think it’s a forgone conclusion that a significant chunk will never lift a finger to do anything again. Aspirations are dim, dreams of the future have died for too many.

Setting that aside,l, I’m wondering if the “free” money we should be talking about is interest-free money? Meaning, money not issued based on debt (which requires the repayment of interest every time it’s created? As it stands, we’re issued money that takes no energy to create, and we pay for that money with positive, “real” energy, which results in an energy deficit. It’s akin to planting a single tree and harvesting 10, no?

Maybe I’m totally off base — as I said, you’ve gone pretty deep down a rabbit hole, and I’m trying to follow you down here without a rope! Lol.
