Homeownership for all was never the essence of the American Dream. Homeownership for those who were willing to work hard and exercise financial discipline was the essence of the American Dream. And it’s a Dream that worked for 150 years.
What the American Dream was never about — and what we’re seeing now — is homeownership for elites. Elite ownership of property was the foundation of the social and economic structure in Europe and most of the world.
But the United States was supposed to be different. The United States used to be different. What’s profoundly disturbing is that we are now being encouraged to believe that we shouldn’t be different.
Once we accept the idea that hardworking people “should” no longer want or expect to own a home, what other uniquely American ideals will we be encouraged to abandon? Freedom of speech (already happening now, with rampant censorship at all levels)? Freedom of association (already happening now, with “domestic terrorism” bills being pushed through Congress at light speed).
America is being quietly re-shaped, all around us, without our conscious awareness. It’s been happening for decades, but last year it kicked into high gear. The re-shaping process is on steroids now. And IMHO this pandemic has been manipulated by elites to accelerate this process.
Yes, COVID-19 is real, and yes, hundreds of thousands of Americans died as a result.
But elites will never let a crisis go to waste. It’s how they operate. This is why they benefit from wars and depressions, accumulating wealth as everyone else struggles and watches their assets evaporate.
Consider how the extended lockdowns forced upon most states worked to the advantage of Jeff Bezos and other deep pockets who saw their fortunes soar to unimaginable levels while average Americans’ household wealth was drained. At the same time, countless trillions of stimulus dollars were pumped into the economy, ostensibly to “help” us, but ultimately serving as a vehicle for private equity and other wealthy investors to get ungodly sums of interest-free loans that they’ve used to drive up the price of real estate and raw materials like lumber — and ultimately, the price of everything else, from food to goods and services, as the excess cash makes its way through the supply chain.
The federal government continues to pump money into subsidized “COVID” unemployment benefits — certainly not enough to bring people back to where they were pre-pandemic and restore lost wealth in the face of this inflationary surge. But they’re handing out just enough money to keep many people from wanting to leave their homes and resume work.
This is why so many small businesses have re-opened, only to find severe staffing shortages. Who wants to work if the government is “paying” almost as much as any employer? How long will small businesses be able to hang on this environment? And when they fail, who do you think will step in to fill the void? If you guessed Amazon or Walmart, give yourself a pat on the back.
When you pull focus and think long and hard about what’s happening now, you can’t help but notice how a civilization-altering event played so well into the hands of those with the most money. And now that we’re hearing that our own government likely funded the Wuhan lab that birthed this virus, the plot thickens.
Only the very naive or the very deluded believe in coincidences of this scale and scope. This isn’t a conspiracy theory; it’s conspiracy fact. It’s how the uber-wealthy have acquired and maintain power and control over humanity for eons.
It’s time to wake the hell up, people.
