I base my judgement on my read of her body language, voice intonation, and facial expressions, as well as those of Mr. Kavanaugh. My judgement is not influenced by any political considerations. Is yours?
I don’t feel comfortable making a determination of guilt or innocence under these circumstances. These are “cold” cases, as far as I’m concerned, and I can’t imagine making a pronouncement based on body language and facial expressions. Chalk it up to an occupational hazard, but when it comes to sussing out guilt or innocence, I need to rely on evidence — and given the lack of credible evidence to support or deny either woman’s allegations, I respectfully decline to opine.
In general, I agree. And had Mr. Kavanaugh said something along the lines of “I did a lot of crazy things when I was a kid and drank too much beer. I don’t recall the incident Ms. Ford describes, so I can neither confirm nor deny it.” then I would have supported his confirmation. However, in my judgement he committed perjury by flatly denying the incident, and I hope that he is impeached and removed from office next year.
I understand that you believe Kavanaugh committed perjury. But is that belief based on evidence that he does, in fact, recall the incident? Or is your belief that a perjury conviction is warranted based on suspicions and body language? If the former, I would be curious to know what that evidence is. If the latter, I’m afraid that’s a position I can’t support.
“I see a threat far than Donald Trump, as you well know. You ignore this threat at our collective peril.”
What in the world gives you the impression that I ignore the threat from Mr. Trump? I have written specifically about that threat.
Please forgive the typo. I meant to write: “I see a threat far greater than Donald Trump.”
This is the third time you have impugned my integrity. I demand that you retract these unjustified accusations. The fact that we disagree does not justify your accusing me of dishonesty.
I apologize if I have, or if you feel that I have, impugned your integrity. I wasn’t aware that I had done this, and certainly not for the third time. Yes, we can respectfully disagree. Based on our prior exchanges, I was under the impression that you are a passionate member of the Democratic party, and at least from my perspective, your continued attacks on Trump and defense of Biden *appeared* to be colored by that perspective. As someone who has no political affiliation (and hasn’t voted in ages), I am particularly sensitive and attuned to the partisanship that runs rampant throughout this country now. So again, my apologies.
Be well.
