But the moment he critiques our Geriatric Lord & Savior, the swords come out.

Let me put this rapidly unfolding humanitarian debacle into perspective: when even the New York Times admits that Biden royally screwed the pooch, it means the pooch has been royally screewed:

In other words, ladies and gentlemen, this did NOT have to happen. Thousands of American civilians, troops, and Afghanis did NOT have to be abandoned behind enemy lines.

Yes, Donald Trump negotiated the withdrawal from Afghanistan before Biden took office. But Biden has had 6 months to prepare for that withdrawal. The plans were laid out for him. And guess what? He didn't follow the plan. Instead, in the face of intelligence warning him that the situation on the ground was rapidly deteriorating, he ignored those warnings -- and incredinly, he even assured the world that an "orderly" withdrawal would transpire, not a frantic evacuation!

Except we see how that turned out now, don't we?

Sometimes you just have to stop making excuses and face reality. Sometimes you also have to ask yourself: "How would I have responded if the guy I DIDN'T vote for were in office now?"

Far too few people on Medium -- the world's pre-eminent online echo chamber -- seem to have the courage to do this now.
