It’s really distressing that free speech has become such a dirty word in a so-called free society. This is what free speech is currently like on pre-Musk Twitter:

My account was suspended last year because I made a post stating that the COVID vaccine does not prevent infection or transmission; it only reduces it. My statement was 100% factually correct, and to support my post, I linked to a CNN video of CDC Director Walensky saying the same thing.

This level of censorship is unconscionable.

Free speech isn’t necessarily code for harassing or insulting people. Yes, that can and does happen, but we can’t justify censorship simply because people don’t want to be insulted or offended.

More often than not, free speech is simply the right to express inconvenient information that makes others uncomfortable because it disrupts their narrative or worldview.

This is really the spirit and the core of the First Amendment, and once upon a time it thrived on Twitter.

If Musk can bring it back, more power to him.
