I’ve read plenty of articles like this that seem to imply that anyone who isn’t woke, resists wokeism, or questions the established narrative around elections or vaccine efficacy is somehow “right wing.” From my perspective, this simply doesn’t make sense. I count myself as one of these people, and I’m a black woman who has voted Democrat for most of her life — until recently. I consider these people — like myself —to be independents.

I’m old school — meaning, I had a political life pre-2008, when “right wing” meant hawkish/pro-military/neocon, religious agenda/pro-life, xenophobic. Musk, however, seems to be none of these things.

BTW, I find it interesting that the Rolling Stone article leads off with Musk’s infamous Tweet questioning the narrative of the Pelosi assault. For two weeks, the security cam footage and body cam footage of this incident were inexplicably withheld. Lo and behold, a week after midterms we learn that there is more to the Pelosi story than we were initially told. To wit, Paul Pelosi answered his front door and calmly let police into his home — while he was being held hostage by a random intruder (who, incidentally, allowed him to use the bathroom).

We should all be so lucky to have such a generous assailant if we’re the victims of a home invasion.
