Oh, we’re definitely on the same page, John. I think the evidence of Russian interference was flimsy, at best. My point (and I suppose I could have/should have made it more clearly) is that Big Tech would not have clamped down on users but for the evidence of Russian interference that U.S. intelligence agencies found.
That said, as I mentioned in the article, these were the same intelligence agencies that misled the world regarding WMDs, so the only assumption I’m making is that Congress likely relied on more bad intelligence to strongarm social media platforms into censoring users.
