Spot on! Changing behavior in human beings is a process; it can’t and shouldn’t happen overnight. In order for it to be long-lasting and effective, change should be organic, and that takes time.

I like your analogy of adopting a healthy lifestyle. It’s as if the “woke” community is forcing white America to go on a crash diet to lose weight fast instead of encouraging it to do the slow, tedious work of changing its eating habits. I’ve been on enough diets to know that when weight is lost quickly, it doesn’t stay off because behavior hasn’t changed at a fundamental level. I think “wokeness” carries the same risk. The 24/7 focus on race and white shaming feels like a fad — and a politically expedient one, at that. There are only three groups of people who benefit when races are pitted against one other: the media, politicians, and the elites who are busy robbing us all blind.
