Thank you for your thoughts, Rex. Can you please explain or cite the published evidence that is at odds with what I’ve described?

Also, just to be clear, the First Amendment does not allow the government to silence people who are causing harm unless that harm falls into a narrow range of categories (hate speech, for example). Expressing questions or concerns about voting integrity or political scandals is protected free speech and not subject to a legal exception.

It’s important to understand the precedent that’s being set here. You might be on thee “right” side of these issues now and think it’s fine for the government to silence the loudest voices. But once this door is opened, the tables could easily turn and one day you might find yourself being silenced by a different regime that thinks your loud voice is causing harm.

It’s all a matter of perspective, and if we’re serious about protecting democracy we need to remember that none of us truly has freedom if it’s denied to those we disagree with.
