Yep. Was saddled with an ungodly amount of student loans in college and law school and know of what you speak. The big red flag for me was when bankruptcy protection was removed from student loan debt in the 90s. Corporations can escape virtually any kind of debt in bankruptcy. Even tax debt and credit card debt are dischargeable. But student loan debt is like herpes. It never goes away. Shackles forever.
